Available programs

Culturália, in partnership with the Lisbon Naval Club, offers two distinct programs that combine culture and nautical activities:

  • 8-Day Program: This immersive program provides a complete experience that includes guided tours of historical sites in Lisbon, cultural workshops, and rowing sessions on the Tagus River, suitable for all experience levels. This program is ideal for participants with longer stays who want a more extensive and comprehensive adventure.

  • 4-Day Program: Ideal for those with less time, this condensed program offers a briefer introduction to Lisbon's aquatic traditions and heritage. It includes visits to points of cultural interest and practical rowing sessions, allowing participants to experience the city's historical connection with the Tagus River.

Both programs are designed to provide an enriching experience, combining cultural exploration with nautical activities, and are suitable for participants seeking a challenging and unparalleled experience.

About us

Lisbon Naval Club

The Lisbon Naval Club is a private, non-profit, and public utility association, founded on February 27, 1892, by Abel Power Daggge, Augusto de Paiva Moniz, Carlos French Duff, Duarte Alexandre Holbeche, Frederico José Burnay, José Felix Peixoto Gimenez, Joaquim Honório Metrass, José Maria Batista Lopes de Amorim, Justino M. de Oliveira, Narciso M. de Oliveira, Nestor de Oliveira Sampaio, Pedro Augusto Franco Júnior, Pedro Sanches Navarro, RNOaklay, and Xavier de Almeida. The Club, whose initial statutes stated its mission as "cooperation in the most useful, noble, and philanthropic idea of creating a rescue station for shipwrecked persons and nautical instruction," quickly assumed an important role in the Portuguese nautical landscape, pioneering many activities. Its origins date back to the first nautical club of which there are references in Portugal, the Arrow Club, founded by the English community on August 18, 1828. Currently, the Lisbon Naval Club's social mission is to support sports, both in education and in sports practice. It is present in the sailing and rowing disciplines, although its objective is to increase the number of participants and expand to more sports.
