Mafra, our territory
Culturália was founded in Mafra. It is here that we develop many of our projects. It is also the territory where we create programmes for travellers, groups, and organisations seeking to discover Mafra in a different way.
Our territory
Located 30 minutes from Lisbon, Mafra stretches from the rural interior to the Atlantic coast of Ericeira. Hills, valleys, beaches, cliffs and forested areas shape a diverse territory where nature and heritage coexist in harmony.

Thematic Programs
Why Mafra?
Mafra brings together world heritage sites, natural landscapes, rural traditions, literature, music, gastronomy, and communities that continue to preserve knowledge and memories. It is this dialogue between heritage and contemporary life that inspires many of our programs.

NATURE AND LANDSCAPE

SUN AND SEA
Ericeira's beaches offer nautical activities and contact with the Atlantic. Recognized as a World Surfing Reserve, Ribeira d'Ilhas Beach stands out for its excellent conditions for surfing and bodyboarding.

GASTRONOMY AND WINE
Mafra's gastronomy combines meat and game dishes from the interior with the fishing tradition of fresh fish and seafood. Highlights include Mafra bread, cheeses, sausages, and traditional sweets. In the Lizandro Valley, vineyards and farms offer wine tastings and gastronomic experiences in a rural setting.
