PROGRAM:
Day 1: Amarante
Morning: Journey from the starting points. Lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon: Guided city tour, led by a local technical guide, to explore the historic center and main points of interest. The tour includes the Church and Monastery of São Gonçalo , an important example of the city's religious heritage. Continue with a guided tour of the Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso Municipal Museum , dedicated to the renowned Portuguese painter. The museum offers an in-depth look at the artist's work and influence on modern Portuguese art, with a diverse collection and temporary exhibitions.
It will include: Dinner and hotel accommodation.
Day 2: Amarante
Morning: A wine experience dedicated to Vinho Verde, with a guided tour of a wine-producing estate, where the winemaking process of this type of wine is explored. A wine-paired lunch, with dishes harmonized with the wines produced on the estate, providing a regional gastronomic experience.
Afternoon: Literary tour about Teixeira de Pascoaes , including a visit to the Gatão Church and the São Gonçalo Café Bar, significant places in the author's life in Amarante.
The program includes: A literary dinner with a lecture on prominent figures from Amarante, followed by a demonstration of the Amarante viola. Hotel accommodation.
Day 3: Lousada
Morning: Literary itinerary dedicated to Agustina Bessa-Luís, which includes a visit to the Monastery of Salvador de Travanca, notable for its architecture and historical importance. The visit includes significant locations that inspired the author, providing an immersion into her writing. Meal of roast kid goat, a typical dish of the region, served in a traditional setting.
Afternoon: Return to the places of origin, after an enriching literary and cultural journey.

Feel comfortable with several days of visits and an itinerary that alternates bus journeys and short walks in the places visited.
Be able to accompany a group at an average walking pace on sometimes uneven ground and with occasional stairs.
Being able to follow a medium-paced programme, which may involve getting up early on several days and only arriving at the hotel at the end of the day for dinner and a rest.
Feel comfortable accompanying a guide and respect all the instructions given.
Tolerate some temperature changes and unstable weather.
