Itinerary: Ávila | Segovia | Royal Site of San Ildefonso | Toledo


Immerse yourself in this 4-day itinerary through the Cities of Castile. From Ávila to Toledo, passing through the grandeur of Segovia, each stage reveals unique scenery. From preserved medieval features to the Christian, Jewish, and Muslim heritages that shaped these cities, let yourself be enveloped by a destination where history comes alive in every square, viewpoint, and monument.

Day 1: Ávila


Morning: Journey from the starting points (~7h to Ávila). Lunch at a local restaurant.

Afternoon: Visit to the Cathedral, considered one of the first Gothic cathedrals in Spain, and to the Convent of Santa Teresa , built on the site of the saint's birthplace and an important center of Carmelite spirituality. Stroll through the historic center , highlighting the city walls and the elegant Renaissance palaces.

The package includes: Dinner and accommodation at the 4-star Hotel Palacio Valderrábanos in Ávila.



Day 2: Segovia


Morning: Departure for Segovia (~1 hour), with a tour of the historic center , highlighting the Plaza Mayor and the old Jewish quarter , which preserves the city's multicultural past. Discovery of the Roman Aqueduct , an engineering marvel inherited from Rome. Lunch at a local restaurant.

Afternoon: Continue with a visit to the Real Alcázar , a unique fortress that may have inspired fairytale castles, and the Segovia Cathedral , a great example of late Spanish Gothic architecture. Pass by the Mirador de la Pradera de San Marcos , offering a privileged view over the city.

It will include: Dinner and accommodation at the 4-star Hotel Palacio Valderrábanos in Ávila (~1 hour).



Day 3: Royal Site of San Ildefonso | Toledo


Morning: Visit to the Royal Site of San Ildefonso (~1h30), former summer residence of the Spanish monarchy and one of the most refined settings in 18th-century Spain. Lunch at a local restaurant.

Afternoon: Discover Toledo (~2h), a city of three cultures, including the historic center and the old Jewish quarter , where Christian, Jewish, and Muslim heritage coexist. Stop at the Mirador del Valle , enjoying a panoramic view of Toledo. Visit the Primada Cathedral , a masterpiece of Spanish Gothic architecture, and the Santa María la Blanca Synagogue , an example of Sephardic heritage.

The package includes: Dinner and accommodation at the 4-star Eurostars Toledo Hotel in Toledo.



Day 4: Toledo


Morning: Continuation of the tour in Toledo with a visit to the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes , commissioned by the Catholic Monarchs in gratitude for the victory at the Battle of Toro, and the Church of Santo Tomé , which houses El Greco's most famous work, The Burial of the Lord of Orgaz. Lunch at a local restaurant.

Afternoon: Return to places of origin (~7h to Lisbon).

Seats on the bus are pre-assigned based on the order of boarding and the seniority of the sign.

To participate in this itinerary, you must:

  • Feel comfortable with several days of visits and an itinerary that alternates between bus journeys and short walks in the historical centers of the places visited.

  • To be able to keep up with a group at an average walking pace on sometimes uneven terrain and occasional stairs.

  • Being able to follow a moderate-paced program, which may involve getting up early for several days and only arriving at the hotel at the end of the day to have dinner and rest.

  • Feel comfortable following a guide and respecting all instructions given.

  • Tolerate some temperature changes and unstable weather.



ACCOMMODATION:

Accommodation is planned at the Hotel Palacio Valderrábanos 4* and the Hotel Eurostars Toledo 4*. or similar.

If, for reasons beyond our control, accommodation in the indicated hotels is not possible, the alternative accommodation will always be of a similar category, although the services offered by each hotel may vary.
