This itinerary offers an immersion into literary and historical Spain, guiding you through the settings that inspired Cervantes' masterpiece. PROGRAM:
Day 1: Toledo
Morning: Overnight journey from the starting points to Toledo (~ 7 hours).
Afternoon: Visit to Toledo. The tour begins at the Primatial Cathedral, one of the most important examples of Spanish Gothic architecture. Visit the Alcázar, an emblematic fortress that served as a palace, military headquarters, and symbol of power throughout the centuries. Panoramic view from the Mirador del Valle offers an unforgettable vista over the city and the Tagus River.

Day 2: Consuegra | Criptana Field
Morning: Excursion to Consuegra (~45 min) to visit the windmills that inspired the famous "giants" of Don Quixote, including a dramatized reading of the battle against the windmills and time for photos and contemplation of the landscape. Lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon: Lunch in Campo de Criptana, visit to the windmills and cave houses - traditional dwellings carved into the rock, reflecting popular architecture and ancient ways of life.

Day 3: Argamasilla de Alba | El Toboso
Morning: Departure for Argamasilla de Alba (~ 1h15). Visit to the Cueva de Medrano, the place where Cervantes is said to have begun Don Quixote. Stroll through the historic center, with a stop at the Church of San Juan Bautista and the Casa de Medrano . Lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon: Continue to El Toboso (~ 1 hour), with a visit to the House of Dulcinea and the Cervantino Museum, which houses editions of Don Quixote in dozens of languages.

Day 4: Ciudad Real | Almagro
Morning: Journey to Ciudad Real (~ 1h30) A tour of the historic center, including the Plaza Mayor , the Cathedral of Nuestra Señora del Prado , and the Convent of San Francisco . Visit to the Museo del Quijote , with antique editions and recreations of the work. Stop in medieval squares, appreciating the architecture and literary atmosphere of La Mancha. Lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon: Departure for Almagro (~30 min) , visit to Plaza Mayor , Corral de Comedias , exploring the only 17th-century theater still in operation, and the Church of San Agustín . Return to Alcázar de San Juan. Free time at the hotel.

Day 5: Trujillo
Morning: Return trip (~7:30 am). Stop for lunch in Trujillo, including a tour of the historic center . Arrival and end of the trip.

Being able to follow a moderate-paced program, which may involve getting up early for several days and only arriving at the hotel at the end of the day to have dinner and rest.
Feel comfortable following a guide and respecting all instructions given.
Tolerate some temperature changes and unstable weather.
