A fascinating journey through the remnants of Moorish heritage in the Iberian Peninsula, exploring the historical, cultural, and architectural richness of Al-Andalus. From iconic cities such as Seville, Cordoba, and Granada, featuring landmarks like the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba, the Alcazar of Seville, and the magnificent Alhambra, this itinerary immerses travelers in the splendor of an era that shaped Iberian culture. Amid stunning landscapes, exotic flavors, and captivating stories, this experience unveils the legacy of a golden age.

PROGRAMME:


Day 1: Seville

Morning: Departure from the departure points to Seville. Lunch en route.

Afternoon: Discover Seville’s main landmarks with a local guide. The tour includes the Seville Cathedral, with a climb up the Giralda Tower for panoramic views, and the stunning Royal Alcázar, featuring its decorated halls and exotic gardens. The walk continues through the historic Santa Cruz Quarter, with its charming alleys and squares, ending by the banks of the Guadalquivir River, with views of the Torre del Oro.

Evening: Dinner and accommodation at Hotel Doña Maria 4* or similar.


Day 2: Granada

Morning: Departure to Granada to visit the iconic Alhambra complex and its surroundings, including the Palace of Charles V, the magnificent Nasrid Palaces, and the enchanting Generalife Gardens, with their fountains and panoramic views of the city and the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Typical lunch at a local restaurant.

Afternoon: Continue with a walk through the Albaicín, the old Moorish quarter. Its narrow streets and whitewashed houses lead to the Mirador de San Nicolás, offering one of the most iconic views of the Alhambra with the Sierra Nevada as a backdrop.

Evening: Dinner and accommodation at Hotel Occidental Granada 4* or similar.


Day 3: Córdoba

Morning: Journey to Córdoba. Visit the impressive Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba, one of the greatest examples of Islamic architecture in the world, with its red and white arches and a unique fusion of Christian and Muslim styles. After the visit, explore the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos, a medieval palace with charming gardens and panoramic views of the city. Lunch at a local restaurant.

Afternoon: After lunch, visit the Courtyard of the Orange Trees (Patio de los Naranjos), filled with orange trees and tranquil fountains, and stroll through the Jewish Quarter (Barrio Judío), with its narrow streets and the Synagogue of Córdoba, one of the few preserved examples of medieval Jewish architecture. End the day by relaxing along the banks of the Guadalquivir River, admiring the view of the Roman Bridge and the Calahorra Tower.

Evening: Dinner and accommodation at Hotel Eurostars Conquistador 4* or similar.


Day 4: Badajoz

Morning: Departure to Badajoz with a stop in Zafra. Upon arrival in Badajoz, visit the imposing Castle of Badajoz, perched on a hilltop, with its impressive walls and panoramic views of the city and region. Next, explore the Cathedral of Badajoz, a beautiful example of Renaissance architecture with impressive artistic details and a peaceful atmosphere. Nearby, the Plaza Alta provides a charming setting to stroll among historical buildings and tree-lined squares. Lunch at a local restaurant.

Afternoon: Return to the departure points.

SEATS ON THE BUS:


Seats on the bus are pre-allocated in order of where you get on the bus and date of deposit payment.


RYTHM: Medium


To take part in this route, you should:

  • Feel comfortable with several days of visits and an itinerary that alternates bus journeys and short walks in the places visited.

  • Be able to accompany a group at an average walking pace on sometimes uneven ground and with occasional stairs.

  • Being able to follow a medium-paced programme, which may involve getting up early on several days and only arriving at the hotel at the end of the day for dinner and a rest.

  • Feel comfortable accompanying a guide and respect all the instructions given.

  • Tolerate some temperature changes and unstable weather.

Planned accommodation at Hotel Doña María 4*, Hotel Occidental Granada 4*, and Hotel Eurostars Conquistador 4* or similar, including breakfast.

If, due to circumstances beyond our control, the indicated hotels are unavailable, alternative accommodation of a similar category will be arranged. However, the services offered by each hotel may vary.
