Lisbon and the Sea: Culture, Landscape and Traditions
PROGRAM:
Day 1: Arrival
Morning: Arrival at the Lisbon Naval Club throughout the day.
Afternoon: Check-in at the hotel and accommodation.
They will be: Group dinner + A light activity to explore the historic center, such as a nighttime stroll through Lisbon, preferably including Praça do Comércio (Commerce Square).
Day 2: Bethlehem | Alfama
Morning : Belém district with a visit to the Jerónimos Monastery , Belém Tower , Monument to the Discoveries + Coach Museum or Maritime Museum . Wine tasting. Pastéis de Belém.
Group lunch: Lunch at the Lisbon Naval Club.
Afternoon : Discovering Alfama. Starting at São Jorge Castle, descending to the Santa Luzia viewpoint, the Cathedral, and the Roman Theatre. Descent through Alfama with visits to the churches.
It will include: Group dinner in Alfama with a live fado show. Accommodation.
Day 3: Chiado | Cascais | Cabo da Roca | Colares | Azenhas do Mar
Morning : Discover Chiado . Ride the Glória funicular, visit the São Pedro de Alcântara viewpoint, São Roque Church, Carmo Convent, Santa Justa Elevator, and Bertrand Bookstore. Visit Largo Camões, then explore Bairro Alto and visit Santa Catarina Church. Descend to Santos via Bica.
Group lunch: Time Out Market.
Afternoon : Excursion along the Lisbon coast to Cascais, Guincho, Cabo da Roca. Sintra-Cascais Natural Park. Visit to the Colares Winery. Azenhas do Mar. Return to Lisbon.
They will be : Group dinner. Accommodation.
Day 4: Grace | Sintra
Morning : Discovering Graça. Starting at Rossio Square, Avenida da Liberdade (going up and down), Martim Moniz, Graça, Senhora do Monte viewpoint, Jardim da Cerca da Graça, Mosteiro S. Vicente de Fora, Pantheon. Ends at Largo da Feira da Ladra.
Group lunch. Meeting at CNL. Lunch in Santos.
Afternoon: Excursion to Sintra. Panoramic bus tour to discover the Sintra Mountains. Short hike in the mountains (optional). Visit to Quinta da Regaleira or Pena Palace or National Palace of Sintra. Free time in the historic center.
They will be : Group dinner. Accommodation.
Day 5: Avenidas Novas | Ericeira | Mafra
Morning : Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Avenidas Novas, Eduardo VII Park and Estufa Fria (with coffee at El Corte Inglés)
Afternoon: Ericeira – José Franco Village – Mafra – Tapada. Dinner at Adega do Convento. Return to Lisbon.
Accommodation will be provided .
Day 6: Parque das Nações | Setúbal | Arrábida | Cabo Espichel
Morning : Parque das Nações – Stroll through the park with a visit to the Vasco da Gama monument, walk through the park, cable car ride, climb to the tower. Lunch at Parque das Nações.
Lunch as a group. The rowing group needs to be transported to Parque das Nações.
Afternoon: Excursion to Setúbal with its historic center – São Filipe Fort – Figueira Beach – Portinho da Arrábida – Sesimbra – Arrábida Mountain Range – Cabo Espichel – Albufeira Lagoon – Meco Beach – Return to Lisbon.
Accommodation will be provided .
Day 7: Longer excursion
Morning : Free morning (if departure is on the 8th in the morning) or cultural visits:
Estrela Garden – Estrela Basilica – Estrela Streetcar by tram – Santa Catarina Viewpoint – National Museum of Ancient Art .
Afternoon: Wine tour of the Setúbal Peninsula: Palmela – Ascent to the Castle. Moscatel tasting in Palmela. Azeitão – Visit to the Bacalhôa Estate and Palace. Stroll through Azeitão and tasting of cakes and cheeses at Quinta do Anjo.
Accommodation will be provided .
Day 8: Departure
Morning : Departure
Match: End of program.

To participate in this itinerary, you must:
Feel comfortable with several days of visits and an itinerary that alternates between bus trips and walking tours in the historical centers of the places visited.
To be able to keep up with a group walking at a fast pace on sometimes uneven terrain, including occasional stairs.
Being able to keep up with a fast-paced program, which may involve getting up early for several days and only arriving at the hotel at the end of the day to have dinner and rest.
Feel comfortable following a guide and respecting all instructions given.
Tolerate some temperature changes and unstable weather.

On the first day, enjoy some light cultural activities with an evening stroll through the city. Explore Praça do Comércio and Cais das Colunas while soaking up the beauty of Lisbon illuminated at night.
Visit to Bethlehem
On the second day, in Belém, be sure to visit the imposing Jerónimos Monastery and the famous Belém Tower. In addition, the Monument to the Discoveries and museums such as the Coach Museum or the Maritime Museum are must-sees.
Tuk Tuk tour through Alfama and Graça
A unique experience to discover the historic neighborhoods of Graça, Mouraria, and Alfama. Stroll through picturesque streets and admire Lisbon's viewpoints aboard a tuk-tuk. Don't miss the views from Miradouro Senhora do Monte and São Jorge Castle.
Dinner at a Fado House in Alfama
In the evening, immerse yourself in Portuguese culture with a traditional dinner at a Fado house in Alfama. Feel the emotion of the music while enjoying a welcoming and authentic atmosphere.
Excursion to Sintra and Cascais
On the third day, prepare to explore the natural and historical beauty of the Sintra region. Visit Pena Palace or the National Palace of Sintra, and take a break at Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe. An unmissable experience!
Walking tour in Chiado and Bairro Alto
