The Buçaco Forest is a unique place of breathtaking natural beauty, covering more than 100 hectares. Come and discover its surprising history, linked to the Carmelite religious order, its heritage, of which we highlight the Convent of Santa Cruz and its peculiar decoration, and its biodiversity, evident in the numerous species of exotic and tropical plants from all corners of the world. This 2-day itinerary allows for an immersive experience in the Buçaco Forest through discovery walks, guided tours, and participation in activities led by the technical guides of the Buçaco Forest Foundation. PROGRAM:
Day 1: Luso | Buçaco National Forest
Morning: Departure from the cities of origin towards Luso. Lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon: Guided tour of the Santa Cruz Convent and Buçaco Forest with a technical guide. This two-hour tour will visit the park's most emblematic points, such as the Convent, the Via Sacra, the Coimbra Gates, the Fonte Fria (Cold Fountain), the small lake, and the Fern Valley . At the end of the day, free time in the Buçaco Forest to relax and enjoy the magnificent natural scenery.
It will include: Dinner and hotel accommodation.
Day 2: Buçaco National Forest
Morning: Walking tour through the interior of the Buçaco Forest to visit the surprising Relic Forest , made up of native plants that, according to some authors, retain the typical characteristics of the primitive forest before human occupation. Picnic lunch in the forest.
Afternoon: Participation in a thematic workshop proposed by the Mata do Buçaco Foundation to discover the way of life of the Carmelite friars in Buçaco. Return to the places of origin.

Feel comfortable with several days of visits and an itinerary that alternates between bus journeys and short walks through the places visited.
To be able to keep up with a group at an average walking pace on sometimes uneven terrain and occasional stairs.
Being able to follow a moderate-paced program, which may involve getting up early for several days and only arriving at the hotel at the end of the day to have dinner and rest.
Feel comfortable following a guide and respecting all instructions given.
Tolerate some temperature changes and unstable weather.
