The Path of Jacinto

Itinerário: Aregos | Tormes | Santa Cruz do Douro | Quinta de Covela

The Path of Jacinto is a cultural and literary route through the landscapes that inspired Eça de Queirós. Starting with a walk along the “Caminho de Jacinto” from the Aregos Station to the Casa de Tormes, the itinerary unveils the landscapes immortalized in the novel A Cidade e as Serras. A guided tour of the Eça de Queirós Foundation offers an immersive experience into the life and works of the author. The journey includes a panoramic tour of the charming region of Santa Cruz do Douro, followed by a visit to the Quinta de Covela, where participants enjoy a wine tasting and a gastronomic experience. The tour will be enhanced with moments of reading and discussion of excerpts from Eça’s works, deepening the connection between the texts and the Douro River.
