Day 1: Monsaraz | Alqueva Lake | Moura
Morning: Trip from the starting points to Monsaraz. Lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon: Guided tour of the Castle to explore its well-preserved walls and learn about the local history and legends. The panoramic views of Alqueva are one of the highlights of this visit. Next, a boat trip on Alqueva Lake, Europe's largest artificial lake, to enjoy the tranquility of the waters and surrounding landscapes. In the late afternoon, discover Moura, a charming village with a historic center rich in tradition. Visit Moura Castle, Largo da Mouraria, and the Clock Tower.
Evening: Dinner and accommodation at a hotel.
Day 2: Serpa | São Domingos Mines | Mértola
Morning: Visit to Serpa, including the Castle and historic center, with highlights such as the Aqueduct and the Church of Santa Maria. Continue to São Domingos Mines, an impressive industrial archaeology landscape where you can see the old mining infrastructure and craters left by the exploration. Lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon: The itinerary culminates in Mértola, a museum village located on top of a hill overlooking the Guadiana River. Visit the Paleo-Christian Basilica, the Main Church (former mosque), Mértola Castle, and the Museum of Islamic Art. Return to the starting points.
