PROGRAM:
Day 1: Porto
Walking tour through the historic center of Porto. Six Bridges Cruise. Discovery of the Old Jewish Quarter, the New Jewish Quarter of Olival, and the Jewish Quarter of Monchique.
Day 2: São João da Pesqueira | Torre de Moncorvo | Freixo de Espada à Cinta
Walking tour in São João da Pesqueira, highlighting the old Jewish quarter | Discovery walk through the Jewish quarter and synagogues of Torre de Moncorvo, former seat of the Rabbinate | Discovery of traces of Jewish presence in Freixo de Espada à Cinta.
Day 3: Castelo Rodrigo | Trancoso
A walking tour in Castelo Rodrigo, to discover the streets of the Synagogue, the Town Hall courtyard, and St. John the Baptist Square. A walk in Trancoso, to discover Jewish heritage such as the Black Cat House or Lion of Judah and the Master's Well.
Day 4: Guarda | Belmonte
A walk through the interior of the walled city of Guarda, to visit the old Jewish quarter, next to the King's Gate. Walking tour of Belmonte, to visit the Synagogue, the old Jewish quarter on Rua Direita and the Jewish Museum.
Day 5: Coimbra | Tomar
Walking tour through the historic center of Coimbra, highlighting the Jewish quarters of Rua Corpo de Deus and Rua Nova, in the Baixa district. Discovery of traces of the Jewish presence in Tomar: Synagogue and Rua da Judiaria. Walk through the historic center of the city of Tomar.
Day 6: Évora | Castelo de Vide
Visit to Évora, which had one of the largest Jewish quarters in the country. Discovery of the Jewish presence in the city's historic center. Visit to the Palace of the Inquisitor of Évora. Walk through Castelo de Vide to see the vestiges of the Jewish presence and synagogue.
Day 7: Lisbon
Discover Lisbon, whose history is intimately linked to its Sephardic heritage. Visit the Alfama district, the Pombaline downtown area, the square of the Church of São Domingos, and the old Jewish quarters.
