In Alcácer do Sal, immerse yourself in a historical journey with a visit to the Castle, whose origins are linked to the Order of Santiago, and the Archaeological Crypt. The Parish Church and the Roman Forum add layers of history to a fascinating narrative. PROGRAM:

Alcácer do Sal Castle: Situated atop a hill, the castle offers panoramic views of the city and the Sado River. It is one of Alcácer do Sal's main tourist attractions and a remarkable example of medieval architecture.

Church of Santa Maria do Castelo: Located next to the Castle, the church was built in the 12th century and is an excellent example of Portuguese Romanesque architecture.

Archaeological Crypt of Alcácer Castle – Lower Floor, Pousada D. Afonso II: Twenty-seven centuries of history intersect in the Archaeological Crypt of Alcácer do Sal Castle, inaugurated on April 18, 2008. The underground chamber, excavated beneath the fortress and the former Convent of Aracaelli, which now houses the Pousada D. Afonso II, offers a true journey through time. In a unique atmosphere, it is possible to see traces of all the peoples who lived on the hill at the foot of which the city stands and left their mark there.

Lunch at a local restaurant, to enjoy a moment of conviviality and sample the gastronomic offerings of Alcácer do Sal.

Walking tour of the city: Alcácer do Sal is a charming and compact city, ideal for exploring on foot. We will walk through the narrow streets of the historic center to discover the city's architectural beauty.

Salt Galleon Trip: In the late afternoon, before our return, we will take a magnificent trip on a salt galleon along the Sado River to enjoy the region's natural landscapes and learn more about the region's history and the salt production activity, which is of great importance to the local economy. During the trip, it is possible to admire the banks of the Sado River and observe the birds that inhabit the region, such as flamingos and herons.

Price: 85 euros | Option without lunch: 65 euros.

BOOKING PROCEDURE

PRE-BOOKING:

Pre-booking is done by filling out the pre-booking form for the respective trip. After completing the form, a 50% deposit of the trip cost must be paid within 5 days for the booking to be considered effective. If we fail to contact you and pay the deposit, we will consider the pre-booking void. The remaining 50% must be paid after receiving a trip confirmation email from Culturália .

Note: If the trip does not take place due to an insufficient number of participants, the deposit paid will be refunded within 5 days.
