Porto is the second largest city in Portugal, and its historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A city with historical monuments, centuries-old bridges, parks, unmistakable gastronomy, and the magnificent Douro River. Not to mention the people of Porto and their very own character – all these are reasons to get to know Porto better!

On this 3-day cultural tour, we will have the opportunity to visit some of this heritage, knowing that Porto is a city one should always return to.

SHORT VERSION

Itinerary:

Day 1: Historic Porto and UNESCO World Heritage Site

Departure from Lisbon by tourist bus at 7:00 AM. Arrival in Porto around 10:00 AM.

Walking tour to Ribeira Quay. Crossing the Dom Luís I Bridge on foot and passing through to Vila Nova de Gaia.

Port wine tasting at the Offley cellars.

Lunch at Herança Magna.

In the afternoon, cruise of the 6 bridges (Gaia side)

Next, a visit to the historic center of Porto: Starting at Jardim Morro, crossing the upper platform of the D. Luís I bridge, Fernandina Wall, Sé Cathedral, descending the narrow streets of the historic Sé district, guided tour of the Palácio da Bolsa or Convento S. Francisco.

Dinner and accommodation.


Day 2 Downtown Porto

In Porto, a walking tour with the following itinerary: > Avenida dos Aliados > Bolhão Market > Capela das Almas > Rua Santa Catarina > Café Majestic > São Bento Station > Rua Clérigos > Clérigos Tower > Cadeia da Relação > Lello Bookstore > Carmo and Carmelitas Churches > Art Gallery Area (Rua Miguel Bombarda and Rua Rosário) > Soares dos Reis National Museum > ending at the Crystal Palace Gardens. Lunch at a restaurant along the route.

Dinner and accommodation at a hotel.


Day 3 Contemporary Port

In the morning, Casa da Música > Bom Sucesso Market > Serralves Foundation > Foz Market > Foz > City Park

In the afternoon, I return to Lisbon.


LONG VERSION


Day 1 – Historic Porto and UNESCO World Heritage Site

Departure from Lisbon at 7:00 AM in a comfortable tourist bus. Arrival in Porto is scheduled for 10:30 AM.

We begin our exploration with a walking tour through the picturesque streets of the historic center, descending to the Ribeira Quay, with its colorful facades and breathtaking views over the Douro River. We cross the iconic Dom Luís I Bridge on foot, passing through Vila Nova de Gaia, where a sensory experience awaits us: a Port wine tasting in the emblematic Offley cellars.

Enjoy lunch in a refined setting at Herança Magna, a space that pays homage to the culture and gastronomy of Northern Brazil.

In the afternoon, embark on a tranquil Six Bridges cruise, sailing along the Douro River from the Gaia quay. On land, we continue with a visit to Porto's historic center, starting at the Jardim do Morro and crossing the bridge via its upper platform. We explore the Fernandine Wall, the imposing Sé Cathedral, and the medieval labyrinths of the Sé district. The day culminates with a guided tour of one of the city's most emblematic monuments: the Palácio da Bolsa or the Convento de São Francisco.

Day 2 – Downtown Porto and its Charms

After breakfast, we set off to discover downtown Porto on a charming and historic walking tour. We begin on the imposing Avenida dos Aliados and continue to the Bolhão Market, a symbol of Porto's soul. We visit the Chapel of Souls and stroll along the lively Rua de Santa Catarina, with a mandatory stop at the famous Café Majestic.

We continue to São Bento Station, with its stunning tiles, and proceed along Rua dos Clérigos, visiting the Clérigos Tower and the former Cadeia da Relação prison. We enter the magical world of Livraria Lello, one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world, and discover the unique Igreja do Carmo and Igreja das Carmelitas churches.

The tour continues through the artistic streets of Miguel Bombarda and Rosário, with a stop at the Soares dos Reis National Museum. We end the morning in the romantic Crystal Palace Gardens, with panoramic views over the city.

Dinner and second night's accommodation in Porto.


Day 3 – Contemporary Porto

On the morning of our last day, we immersed ourselves in the most modern and cosmopolitan side of Porto. We visited the Casa da Música, an icon of contemporary architecture, and the Mercado do Bom Sucesso, a vibrant space of flavors and trends. We continued to the Serralves Foundation, with its contemporary art museum and stunning gardens. We then proceeded to the Mercado da Foz and the riverside area of Foz, where the Douro meets the Atlantic, before crossing the verdant Parque da Cidade.

In the afternoon, we began our return to Lisbon, bringing with us the best of the history, art, and soul of the city of Porto.




Price: 197 euros (per person in a double room). For a single room, add 35 euros.

Included in the price: - Transportation by tourist bus - Accompaniment of the group by a specialized local guide during the two days. This trip will only take place with a minimum of 35 registered participants.

BOOKING PROCEDURE


PRE-BOOKING: Pre-booking is done by filling out the pre-booking form for the respective trip. After completing the form, a 50% deposit of the trip cost must be paid within 10 business days for the booking to be considered effective. If we fail to contact you and pay the deposit, we will consider the pre-booking void. The remaining 50% must be paid up to 15 days before the departure date.

After completing the form, make the deposit payment (50% of the total trip cost) within 10 days via bank transfer to the following IBAN: PT50.0036.0077.99100090123.08

After making the bank transfer, please send an email to ca.culturalia@gmail.com with the following information: - Proof of Payment (you can send a screenshot if you make the transfer via ATM, or you can request a notification if you make the transfer via online banking to this email address) - Trip details and dates - Name of each participant

Note: If we do not receive proof of payment of the deposit within 10 days of completing the form, your pre-booking will be cancelled.
