Itinerary: Badajoz | Mérida | Guadalupe | Trujillo | Cáceres


Join us on an adventure through the heart of Monumental Extremadura. Discover traces of Roman civilization, feel the charm of medieval cities that transport you through time, admire the towering cathedrals that seem to touch the sky, and explore the rich heritage of the Arab era, with its imposing fortresses and even a monumental Islamic citadel. And to complement the cultural wealth, the region's breathtaking natural beauty. A journey that will truly inspire you!

PROGRAMME:


Day 1: Badajoz | Mérida

Morning: Departure from the origin cities to Badajoz. Arrival in Badajoz for a tour of the historic center and the fortified area. We will visit the Alcazaba of Badajoz, the lively Plaza de España, and its Cathedral. Lunch at a local restaurant.

Afternoon: Continue to Mérida, the former capital of the Roman province of Lusitania, a UNESCO World Heritage site. In Mérida, you can find some of the best-preserved Roman ruins in the Iberian Peninsula. We will visit the Roman Theatre and Amphitheater, Plaza de España, the Temple of Diana, the Roman Bridge, and the Alcazaba.

Evening: Dinner and accommodation at Hotel Barceló V Centenário 4* in Cáceres or similar.


Day 2: Guadalupe | Trujillo

Morning: Departure to the Sierra de Guadalupe to visit the majestic Royal Monastery of Santa María de Guadalupe, one of the most iconic religious monuments in Spain and a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1993. Inside, besides the Gothic style, you can admire various works in Mudéjar, Neoclassical, Renaissance, and Baroque styles. Then, free time to wander through the streets and squares of the historic center of Guadalupe. Lunch at a local restaurant.

Afternoon: Continue to the charming medieval town of Trujillo, where we will walk through its streets, alleys, and squares, taking time to appreciate its architectural beauty, which was chosen as the setting for the final battle scene in the famous series Game of Thrones (Season 7).

Evening: Dinner and accommodation at Hotel Barceló V Centenário 4* in Cáceres or similar.


Day 3: Cáceres

Morning: Travel to Cáceres, where we are transported back to the Middle Ages to marvel at a city full of walls, towers, and monumental palaces, listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage site. A walking tour to contemplate the fascinating architecture of this city. Lunch at a local restaurant.

Afternoon: Return to the origin cities.
